  • Take an afternoon and snowmobile to Burgdorf Hot Springs. Burgdorf has two pools. Water enters the sandy-bottomed springs at 112F and flows into the main pool (5 feet deep) at 104F. A shallow pool, ideal for children, is nearby. Although Burgdorf appears on many maps, it has more ghosts than town to it. An unimproved road, open from mid-May to November, provides access to the springs. During winter months, the springs can only be reached on cross-country skis or by snowmobile. http://www.burgdorfhotsprings.com/contact/
  • Ride to the old mining town of Warren near Burgdorf hot springs via groomed trail, boondock in the powder, or high mark in Wong's Bowl and Twin Lakes. Ride to a new place everyday. Five groomers keep the trails in good shape.

Hunting & Fishing

A hunters dream from waterfowl to turkey, elk and deer to bear, the McCall area is a prime basecamp for sportsmen and women.

Whether by drift boat, jet boat or as part of a rafting trip, the Salmon River is teeming with opportunity. In the spring, Chinook Salmon are king. In the summer months, smallmouth bass are the fish of choice. When the weather turns cooler, steelhead fishing takes over.

If hooking a monster fish is your dream, the Snake River is your best bet. White sturgeon are plentiful here and can grow to be 12 feet long, weigh up to 400 pounds and live for hundreds of years. You can also catch plenty of bass and trout in the Snake. No matter where which river you fish, the one thing you can expect is solitude. Minimal crowds and hundreds of miles of shoreline make it feel like you have the water all to yourself.
